One of my favorite things I do most of the time is look at stars which brings me to talk about astronomy. Astronomy is the study of stars, planets, comets and any other astronomical objects. The main focus on astronomy is that it talks about stellar evolution and star formation. I have a 16 inch tube that is a reflector and you can see pretty good. Another thing about this study is it also talks about the 110 messier objects which is a catalogue published by Charles Messier in the late 1800's it includes galaxies, nebulaes, and clusters.
This study talks about the 88 constellations and the stars there are billions of stars in our home galaxy. The closest galaxy to us is the Andromeda Galaxy it is 2,500,000 light-years away. Here are some facts on our galaxy the name of our galaxy is the Milky Way Galaxy or simply the galaxy it is 100,000 light-years across and our Solar System is at the edge of the galaxy and also our galaxy is a spiral. Our closest star to us after the Sun is Alpha Centauri it is in the constellation Centaurus which is a Southern Hemisphere constellation which means if you wanted to see it you probably would want to go to the Southern Hemisphere. The star is 4 light years away from the Sun.
